Generating Prospects with Squidoo: Tip (and Webinar Link)

First, the Squidoo tip:
In the first set of tutorials we showed you how to set up your first Squidoo lens. Today, I'd like to give you a tip that can help you take your Squidoo to the next level.
Tip to get Squidoo Bringing You Prospects:
Write several Squidoo lenses on several 'hot topics' presently in your target market. If it's a NEW hot topic then people are searching for it but there is very little competition yet for related key word and phrase searches (because it’s NEW).
(You can do this in Ezinearticles and other social marketing areas as well).
Remember, as I have said throughout many tutorials, you want to put your key word or phrases that you're trying to be found under FIRST in your marketing. So, in this case, you'd try to name your new Squidoo lenses with your key words or phrase FIRST in the name, as well as in the headlines.
So, if you’re key word phrase you’re focused on is: Building on a Budget, the name of your Squidoo lens should be:
Buildingonabudget
Or, if that were taken:
Buildingonabudgetdillard
Or,
Buildingonabudgetnetworking
I hope you will take some time to find hot topics for your target market… and don’t ‘just’ focus on ‘building on a budget’ if you’re attracting the same target market I am. There are so many key words and phrases to focus on. Go after many of them.
More on this Squidoo tip…
Try to have a good density of key words or phrase sprinkled throughout your article. Don't use them too much--keep it natural. Just be mindful that they are used throughout.
Also, search engines not only prioritize headlines but also the words or phrases that you bold or italicize. If you've gone through the tutorials for Squidoo at Renegade Professional, you have seen where I give you directions on how to italicize or bold words (as well as how to link them to other pages, like your lead capture page).
On last Friday's Webinar, I mentioned this trick to everyone. My target market is networkers so I gave the example of using a hot key word phrase like, Building on a Budget. I wrote a quick Squidoo lens yesterday (took 15 minutes) and now see I am on page 2 for key word phrase, Building on a Budget, at Yahoo. I've had 8 hits and it hasn't been 24 hours.
Now that I see it got some hits I will improve it over time (adding more content, playing with key word density, etc).
So, to recap: If you have already started setting up a Squidoo lens, here's your next step:
1. Write several Squidoo lenses (and Ezine article lenses) about hot topics in your industry--use related key words and phrases in the name and headlines, and sprinkled throughout the text. Focus on one main key word or phrase (for name of Squidoo lens and to put throughout article)... and you can also have a few supportive / relative key words but not more than 2 or 3.
2. Wait and see which Squidoo lens 'hits' -- meaning, which one came up on a search engine or started getting some traffic.
3. Start adding and improving the one that hit... and start to duplicate that topic on your Ezinearticles, Blog, etc. Book mark it with Digg...
We will continue to offer support with similar suggestions going forward but I wanted to pass this along now. We'll be moving into Phase II of the Social Marketing area this week to show you how to get all of your social marketing you've started working together (linking, etc) to get more prospects coming to you. Remember, you're just building the base right now. Take suggestions like that above to 'calibrate' your marketing campaigns.

P.S. Google Adwords Tutorials should be going up early this week. I do not suggest Adwords over Social marketing unless you want to dabble with it. I do use Google Adwords to attract leads and spend about $500 per month, but I make the same back on monetization. More on this is explained in the tutorials.
